Dr. Brockman is proud to be the first Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship trainee at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. She joined the team after a career in military pediatrics and brings additional qualifications as a registered dietitian (RDN) and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Born and raised in Orlando, FL, she attended Florida State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and minors in Psychology, Chemistry, and Biological Sciences. Following graduation, she completed a year-long clinical internship at Emory Hospitals in Atlanta, GA to become a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist. She entered active duty in June 2011, while matriculating at the University of Florida College of Medicine as part of the United States Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program where she earned her medical degree with Honors for Academic Excellence in the top 10% of her graduating class.

Following graduation, Dr. Brockman was promoted to Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and transferred to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) for an internship and residency in pediatrics. Upon completion of her residency, she began her career as a board-certified Pediatrician at Naval Hospital Okinawa in Okinawa, Japan. After serving in many leadership roles in Okinawa and at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA, Dr. Brockman resigned from active-duty military service at the rank of Lieutenant Commander in June 2022.

Dr. Brockman is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). In 2020, she completed the AAP’s Young Physicians’ Leadership Alliance, an interactive three-year training program designed to develop leaders and build a leadership community amongst early career pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists. She presented results and lessons learned from her longitudinal project, Standardization of Newborn Care in Military Medical Center, at the 2020 virtual National Conference. That same year, she was recognized by the AAP Uniformed Services Chapter West as Navy Pediatrician of the Year.
