Amber Johnson PA-C

Amber was born and raised in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She went to college at University of Minnesota Duluth. Afterwards she worked as a scribe and medical assistant in dermatology and ophthalmology to obtain patient care hours for PA school. She attended PA school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois and her favorite rotations were cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, and inpatient internal medicine. She graduated during the peak of the pandemic and moved home to Minnesota where jobs were difficult to find for a new graduate; so she worked as a medical assistant at the ophthalmology clinic during her gap year until she was hired as a colorectal surgery PA. She also spent time working in addiction psychiatry prior to moving to Florida for her husband’s schooling. While she learned a lot in these specialties, cardiology and cardiovascular surgery has been her passion since she was 15 and she is excited to finally be working in her favorite specialty. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, and going on outdoor adventures with her husband.
