Dr. Daphne Pineda, often called “Daph” by friends and family, was born in Guatemala but grew up in Central New Jersey.  She attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and then transferred to Stetson University in Deland, FL.  Dr. Pineda attended medical school at St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies, followed by completing her residency at St Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, and her fellowship at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. Her medical interests include neonatal feeding and nutrition and neonatal simulation. Dr. Pineda was recently published in the Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (Pineda D, Bingham R, Gates A, Thompson AB, Stansfield BK. Acid/base balance in fortified donor human milk: an experimental study. J Parenter Enteral Nutr. 2023;1‐7. doi:10.1002/jpen.2537).  Outside of work, she enjoys reading a good non-medical book, exploring trails and parks with her 2 yr old lab/boxer mix and traveling.
