Dr. Lauren Ruoss was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming but considers Florida her home. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Florida State University where she was a Division 1 collegiate diver on the swimming/diving team. She earned her medical degree at Florida State University, solidifying her love for the FSU Seminoles. Upon graduation, she completed her pediatric residency and was Chief Resident at the Medical University of South Carolina before completing her neonatology fellowship training in Boston at Boston Children’s Hospital in the Harvard University combined program.
As an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida for six years, she founded and directed the Neonatal Point-of-Care Ultrasound Program, was co-founder of the Multidisciplinary Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia and Pulmonary Hypertension Teams and was Associate Medical Director for the NICU.
Her clinical and program initiatives focus on infants with cardiopulmonary disturbances and the utility of point-of-care ultrasound and targeted neonatal echocardiography and is currently undergoing formalized training in neonatal hemodynamics at the University of Iowa. Dr. Ruoss loves spending time with family and friends, sharing her love of travel, hiking, skiing, yoga, and of course Disney with her two amazing children.
