Elizabeth Carreño-Rijo, MD

Adolescent Medicine

Elizabeth Carreño-Rijo is an Adolescent Medicine Physician and a board-certified pediatrician. She received her medical degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), she completed her residency program in Pediatrics at the Lincoln Mental and Health Center in the Bronx, NY in 2011 and her Adolescent Medicine fellowship in the Golisano Children’s Hospital/University of Rochester, NY in 2019 where she also obtained a Master’s in Public Health. Following medical school, she spent a year working on humanitarian projects in Corazones Unidos, a clinic in the Dominican Republic, providing medical care for impoverished children with special care needs. During residency, she received an Outstanding Abstract Award at the Endocrinology Society Meeting. After completing residency, she joined Pediatrics 2000, a clinic in a federally underserved area in Manhattan. Her areas of interest include reproductive health, LGBTQIA care, and areas of Public Health concern such as Adverse Childhood Experiences. Originally from the Dominican Republic outside of work, she enjoys biking, traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
