Kathleen Vazzana, DO, MSc
Associate Program Director, Pediatric Rheumatology
Dr. Kathleen M. Vazzana is a board-certified pediatric rheumatologist. She attended Drew University for her undergraduate education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theater. She then attended the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in the Academic Medicine Scholars Program, earning her Master’s in Neuromusculoskeletal Sciences and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree. She completed her pediatric residency at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Following residency, Dr. Vazzana completed her pediatric rheumatology fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center as well as a clinical fellowship at the National Institutes of Health focusing on lupus genetics. She returned to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children to join the pediatric rheumatology department in 2021. Dr. Vazzana has a special interest in systemic lupus erythematosus and enjoys working alongside families to tackle chronic medical diagnoses. She also is very passionate about medical education and enjoys her time mentoring.
