Why is the Diversity Council needed?

Studies have shown that during a period already characterized by substantial stress, minority residents face extra workplace burdens.

Three major themes have been identified:

  1. Daily barrage of microaggressions and bias
  2. Minority residents tasked as race/ethnicity ambassadors
  3. Challenges negotiating professional and personal identity while seen as “other”
