Orlando Health Graduate Medical Education Diversity Council serves as an advocate to help remove barriers so minority and underrepresented students, faculty and staff find a sense of belonging. Our initiatives recognize the importance of diversity among healthcare professionals and seek to address disparities via education, scholarships and grants.

Incoming Intern Scholarship (August/September)

Scholarship for selected incoming URM interns to support educational resources (e.g., question banks, educational audio/visual resources, or any specialty specific resources) to promote academic success.

Health Equity Champion Award (May)

Awarded to a graduating resident who has exemplified a commitment to health equity over the course of their time at Orlando Health.

Health Equity Research Grants (on-going)

Residents and fellows can apply for funding to support health equity and health disparities related projects.

Health Equity Lectures (on-going)

Lectures are provided to residents/fellows and faculty on health equity topics.
