Anthony J. Rongione, MD

Anthony Rongione, MD, is a board-certified cardiac and thoracic surgeon with the Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute. He specializes in minimally invasive aortic valve procedures, TAVR, aortic root and aneurysm procedures with a focus on advanced heart failure, including mechanical circulatory support (LVAD) and transplantation. He also has vast experience in performing coronary artery bypass surgery (arterial revascularization) and a particular interest in bloodless cardiac surgery.
Dr. Rongione earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, followed by an internship and residency in general surgery at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He then completed specialization in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Washington, School of Medicine in Seattle. As an accomplished member of the medical community, Dr. Rongione has served as an investigator for eight clinical trials; written nearly 50 abstracts plus a book chapter; published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals; and presented at medical conferences across the country.
He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
