Mission Statement
To improve the urologic health and quality of life of the communities we serve by training the next generation of urological surgeons.
Program Aims
- Provide a urologic surgical education encompassing all aspects of urology, allowing residents to provide quality care immediately after residency or be excellent candidates for further fellowship training.
- Recruit and train a diverse urologic workforce that will represent and treat the local citizens or Central Florida.
- Create an environment that fosters scientific enquiry that will lead to resident participation in clinical research during their residency and into their careers.
- Ensure that residents are trained by a diverse group of attendings that are interested in upholding the program's mission statement and are committed to self-improvement and education.
- Organize a culture that promotes mental, physical, and social well-being of patients, residents, and attendings
- Institute a curriculum that also teaches quality improvement, integration into community and hospital systems, and multi-specialty collaboration
Research & Quality Improvement
Scholarly activity is a hallmark of our program. Residents are required to complete at least one significant research or quality improvement project during their training, with support for presentations at local, regional and national conferences. Faculty mentors will guide residents through all stages of project development, from idea generation to publication.
Physician Wellness
Wellness is a cornerstone of a productive career and is taken seriously at Orlando Health. Both faculty and residents are expected to invest in wellness with faculty serving as role-models and mentors.
