Robert P. Winter, MD, FACS is a vascular surgeon with Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute, and is board certified in vascular and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Winter has clinical expertise in many areas of vascular disease, including disorders of the abdominal and thoracic aorta. He, along with Dr. G. Kendrix Adcock, performed the first endovascular aneurysm repairs in Central Florida. Dr. Winter maintains a keen interest in advancing minimally invasive therapies for aortic disease, and he has served as an investigator for numerous FDA sanctioned clinical trials for endovascular devices and techniques. Dr. Winter has a vast experience treating carotid artery and upper extremity arterial disorders, utilizing both traditional surgical methods as well as angioplasty and stenting.
Additionally, Dr. Winter has extensive expertise in the treatment of peripheral artery conditions, including claudication and threatened limb loss. He has at his disposal a large variety of minimally invasive treatment options including atherectomy, angioplasty, and stenting. Many patients can be treated and sent home the same day. Disease of mesenteric and renal arteries is another of Dr. Winter’s clinical interests, and he utilizes both endovascular and traditional surgical procedures in the treatment of these complex problems.
