Dr. Herrera is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist specializing in maternal fetal medicine with the Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies Center for Maternal Fetal Medicine. In addition to her dedication to providing the best care for high-risk mothers and babies, she has a special interest in medical education and research.
Dr. Herrera understands a high-risk pregnancy diagnosis can be stressful for mothers and their families, and she develops a personalized care plan for mother and baby in order to achieve the best possible outcome. Services for high-risk pregnancies include, genetic counseling, prenatal testing, diabetic and nutritional counseling, patient and family counseling, neonatal intensive care, morbidly adherent placenta (MAP) program and treating medically-complex pregnancies.
Dr. Herrera is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in maternal fetal medicine. Her professional memberships include the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and American Medical Association. She is a member of the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine education committee.
Dr. Herrera is dedicated to patient care, medical education, and research. She is a member of the education committee for the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine (SMFM) and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) PROLOG Obstetrics task force. She is an author and peer reviewer for UpToDate - an electronic clinical resource tool for patients and providers.
During her residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, she served as administrative chief resident. Throughout her education and career, she has received multiple awards, held many leadership roles, and been a frequent author and presenter.
