Favorite place in Orlando?  On my weekends off, I like to simply find good food to eat around the city. There are so many new places popping up all the time. One of my favorite spots is East End Market. It is an eclectic collection of small shops that offer foods ranging from farm-fresh breakfast to organic juices, fresh-brewed coffee, and even my favorite ramen at Domu - all in one spot. What can I say? I love food.

Why Orlando Health general surgery?  It is a well-rounded program where residents get a diverse operative experience in every year of training. We also rotate with a wide spectrum of practices (private versus hospital-employed, urban versus suburban). When I interviewed, I remember thinking that the chief residents seemed ready for practice early on in their last year of training. Now that I am in that position, I can see why. Autonomy is gained quickly but still at an appropriate pace. Without a doubt, I would choose this program again.

Future career plans: Minimally Invasive Fellowship.  Then General Surgery with emphasis on Minimally Invasive Surgery
