Mark Munro, MD, serves as an orthopedic surgeon with Orlando Health Orthopedic Institute. Dr. Munro is a leader in the area of hip and pelvic fractures and is board certified in orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Munro earned his medical degree from Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He then completed an orthopedic residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, followed by a fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa.

Dr. Munro is specially trained in minimally invasive surgeries, including the direct anterior approach hip replacement, a unique muscle-sparing hip replacement. He was the first in Central Florida to provide this novel procedure and has completed more than 1,000 of these.

Dr. Munro has authored many journal publications, presented research and lectured internationally on fracture care and hip and knee replacement. He partners with physicians and hospitals abroad teaching surgical techniques in knee and hip replacement.
