Orlando Health’s 2024 Internal Medicine Jeopardy Team - Shelby Ploucher, MD (PGY 2), Teresa Bernardes, MD (PGY 2), and Rida Altaf, DO (PGY 1) won first place during the Doctor’s Dilemma Competition at the 2024 Florida Chapter ACP Annual Spring Meeting. They will advance to the finals that will be held during the 2024 Florida Chapter ACP Annual Scientific Meeting in October!
Caitlin Tweedie, MD (PGY 2) and Kiera Turner, MD (PGY 1) were both Florida ACP Resident Clinical Vignette Poster Winners during the Florida Chapter ACP Annual Spring Meeting in 2024. Dr. Tweedie presented “Cardiac Sarcoidosis as a Case of High Degree Atrioventricular Block,” and Dr. Turner (pictured to the left) presented “Adult Congenital Heart Disease: Ostium Secundum Presenting as Sustained Ventricular Tachycardia.”

Rachel Truong, MD (PGY 2) received the highest points at the 2023 Florida Chapter ACP Annual Scientific Meeting in October. She took a case of diffuse disseminated monkeypox from Orlando to the 2024 National ACP Meeting in Boston!
Our associate program director, Kwabena Ayesu, MD, traveled with Sandra Perez, MD (PGY 3), Shelby Ploucher, MD (PGY 2), and Caitlin Tweedie, MD (PGY 2) to Ghana, Africa this April 2024. They were able to provide direct medical care and health education to over 1,000 patients throughout several villages in the country!
