Orlando Health's NeuroSpine Center of Excellence
Individuals suffering from back pain need look no further than the NeuroSpine Center of Excellence at Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital. With the only Joint Commission-certified spine surgery program in Central Florida, the center offers highly effective noninvasive treatments and minimally invasive spine surgery for complex neck and back issues.
What Our Joint Commission Certification Means
To earn accreditation by the Joint Commission, Health Central Hospital underwent a rigorous on-site review where experts evaluated compliance with advanced disease-specific care standards and spine surgery requirements, including surgical consultation and follow-up care. Achieving the certification recognizes Health Central Hospital’s commitment to providing excellent care in a safe and efficient manner. Our goal is to deliver the best care possible and improve patient outcomes based on national standards. We focus on compassionate and individualized care for every patient.
A Multidisciplinary Approach
Our team of board-certified neurosurgeons, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and nurse techs are committed to delivering the best care possible to help patients regain their independence and quality of life.
Our Rehabilitation Services physical therapy team supports each patient’s successful recovery with evidence-based physical therapy along with patient education on self-supportive exercises, correct postures and movement, nutrition and hydration. An on-site rehabilitation gym, private rooms, free WiFi and a quiet, friendly atmosphere are just a few of the amenities provided.
What to Expect
If surgery is required, patients are prepared through “prehab” physical therapy to strengthen the body and enhance recovery. Virtually all spine surgery patients are up on their feet the same day of surgery and experience short hospital stays. Neck surgery patients usually spend one night in the hospital after surgery and back patients generally spend two nights. Patients then receive follow-up physical therapy and education to maintain their spinal health for the rest of their lives. Individuals in need of occupational or speech therapy are treated by the Rehabilitation Services team at Health Central Hospital.
